How To Look After Elderly Cats

In this video, Anne Batley – Burton, one of the stars of TV show ‘The Housewives Of Auckland’ and founder of the NZ Cat Foundation shares how to look after elderly cats.

Sadly, there are many abandoned and unwanted cats and kittens in our communities. Anne and the aim of the NZ Cat Foundation is to de-sex, vaccinate, and microchip every stray cat, in the hope that one day each of them will have a loving home.

What does the NZ Cat Foundation do?

The NZ Cat Foundation is committed to educating the community, particularly New Zealand youth. Education of our new generation is paramount, teaching our young people to embrace their responsibility to care for their cats. The foundations stance is that we do not have a “cat problem”; we have a “people problem” so Anne is doing her part to educate and inspire others to love and look after cats – whether they’re domesticated or strays – in the most humane way possible.

The foundation, based in Huapai, provides a sanctuary to more than 200 unwanted stray or elderly cats in a protected environment where all their needs are met in an indoor/outdoor environment. They are attended too through the kindness of volunteers who regularly give up their time to clean the facilities, feed the cats and give them the care and attention they deserve.

If you’d like to donate to support the incredible work Anne and her volunteers are doing to ‘help the helpless’ please do on their website: https://www.thenzcatfoundation.org.nz/
