Low Carb Crunchy Chocolate Top Recipe

This recipe is the chocolate dip you know and love, made from good fats and it’s SUGAR FREE! I love it on top of protein Icecream like Isocream. This is a small serving you can keep in the cupboard and simply melt it down by placing the container in a bowl of hot water.

    • 1/4 cup of cocoa or cacao powder
    • 3 tbsp of coconut oil
    • 1.5 tbsp stevia or your preferred sweetener

Place coconut oil and stevia in a microwave safe container and heat in the microwave on high for 30 seconds, then if not fully liquified, heat for a further 15 seconds. You can also melt this down in a pot on your stovetop if you’d prefer.

Mix thoroughly and once stevia has dissolved, add coconut and mix through.

Serve on cold ice cream and enjoy!

To store: I keep mine in an airtight container in my pantry or you can keep it in the fridge. To soften, place the whole container in a bowl of boiling water and stir till fully melted.

Disclaimer: Many people talk about the health benefits of coconut oil and its potent effects on our gut health and ability to help burn fat. Here’s an article on Healthline that has information for you to consider. My thoughts: it’s still a fat. While there may be health benefits, if you’re struggling with cholesterol issues, fatty liver or gall bladder challenges, please go easy and if you’re considering following low carb / high fat diets, please talk to your health professional first. Remember: this is still a ‘treat food’ and is suitable for low carb or keto diet followers or those following low carb / high fat. It’s also diabetes friendly when paired with a sugar free ice cream, but like every treat, there’s still a lot of calories, so make sure you’re exercising and eating plenty of leafy greens and good proteins to support your healthy lifestyle.
